The Arkadak Museum of Local Lore was founded in 1971 as a community museum. In 1990, it was registered as a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore.
The museum is housed in a detached two-story building constructed in the latter half of the XX century. The collections comprise over eight thousand items. Those are things and documents meant to give an account of the Arkadak district history and culture: household articles, tableware, rare photographs of the early XX century, considerable collection of coins and paper currency. The museum is known for displaying works of local artists and various types of exhibitions
