Description:

The Ore-Petrographical Museum of the IGEM RAS is the only in the world museum housing a comprehensive systematized collection of all currently known igneous rocks. It also houses regional collections representing igneous rocks and principal ore types from most mining districts of Russia and some other countries, as well as collections illustrating the distinctive features of magmatic and ore-forming processes during certain stages and in some geodynamic environments that have occurred in the course of the Earth's evolution
