Description:

Tambov Museum of the Regional Studies, one of the oldest in Russia, was founded in 1879 on the 100th anniversary of the Tambov governorship . At present, the museum consists of 118 thousand storage units. Сollections of museum comprise documentary fund, including unique books and documents XVII-XVIII centuries; paintings and drawings; arts and crafts, weapons, ethnography, archeology, natural science collections .

On the basis of the museum are scientific and practical conferences, seminars, museum biennale, festivals, concerts. Implementing major regional and interregional permament exhibition, scientific and educational, museum and educational projects, including in multimedia format.
