It is one of the oldest museum in Kirov redion. It will be 78 etars old in November, 15, 2002. The museum is named after N.N. Arbuzova. She was a redional ethnographer. She has been the head mistress of the museum during 37 years (1942 - 1979). She has done mush for the development of the musseum.

    The modern museum has 8 halls. The documents, the photoes, tools tell about the nature and history of the district, about its sicial and economic development.

    There are many materials about the World War I, about the organizing of the Soviet power in Urzhum, about the Civil War, about the heroic deeds of Urzhum peopl during the World War II, and peace time.

    The exhibits tell much about the development of education, health services, culture, indastry, about the distinguished men and women of Urzmhum district.
