Description:

A.F. Mozhaisky's house-museum is situated in the country-estate Kotelnikovo, nowadays - village Mozhaiskoye. It is a wooden building constructed in the middle of the 19th century. The museum is devoted to a well-known Russian aircraft inventor Alexander Mozhaisky (1825-1890) who took the first steps to create a monoplane - an aircraft that was heavier than air. Museum visitors can also observe the exposition "Vologda people's contribution to the development of aviation and astronautics". It tells about an outstanding aircraft designer S. Ilyushin, cosmonaut P. Belyaev. The museum is surrounded by an old park founded in 1861
