Description:

The Kursk Archaeological Museum, fonded in 1992, is situated in a unique building dated by the XVIII century . The museum stock runs up to 50.000 obiects . Every summer 4 or 5 research expeditions are orgdnised by the museum workers for the purpose of the investigation of ancient fortresses, settlements and barrows . All the materials gathered in the process of excavations are exhibited and also used in scientific works and books for pupils and students . The museum works hard studying and activety popularizing the Kursk region history
