Description:

Borovichi museum -one of the oldest museum in Novgorod area. The museum was founded on May 1918 by County Board of Education. Basis of creation was collection of museums by Zhukovskiy and Gogol. The first exposition of museum was about noble estates (furniture, books, painting and ets.), local industry (ceramic, tanning, woodworking) and the exhibition of flora and fauna. From 1926 to 1927 years museum has been closed. In 1928 the museum was opened thanks to S.N. Porshnyakov(1889-1992) and he was became the first director.

The modern exposition of Museum of the history Borovichi and Borovichi Land was opened in 2009. There are 5 halls and they tell us about period from ancient times to revolution events 1917 and about another interesting facts of our history. Riches and variety of exhibits opens the history of Borovichi and the people's fates.
