Local history and art museum of Uzlovaya was founded as public on May 8, 1968. In January 1971 it was given the national status. In 1987 the first national art gallery was opened with the help of artist S.P. Tkachev, deputy of Supreme Soviet of the USSR, which was later reformed into Local history and art museum with quite good fund of soviet artists' works of 50-90 years of XX.

    Not large but universal collection serves as the base for Children Art Schools, amateur artists and masters of decorative and applied arts. The museum acts as methodical and organizational center for minor public museums and clubs at museums under the slogan "Museum is the house of Muses".

    Funds of Uzlovsky art museum of local lore, as well as the majority of provincial complex museums, represent quite various meeting .The basis is the collection on the history of the local enterprises, the personality of the famous countrymen, a collection of the art gallery under the motto "the Business and the people of the Moscow region". In recent years the Museum actively led the archaeological exploration of the territory of the district, with the help of the Tula archaeological expedition and the club of young archaeologists. As a result of a formed collection of materials on the history of the region from the ancient stone age up to 18-th century of our era
