Tula Museum is a museum of full type and contains collections concerning nature, archaeology, history and culture of Tula region. In its collections there are interest, they are connested with the life and activities of many remarkable people of the region. Due to the fact that now the Museum expositions are closed its scientific workers give much attention to the forms of work which are beyond the limits of the Museum: organization of scientific conferences, lecturing bureaus, mobile exhibitions, publication of the literature connected whit the study of local lore. The Museum is a scientific and methodical centre of the study of local lore in the region.
