The Sergiev Posad State History and Art Museum-Preserve invites you to Sergiev Posad, situated 70 km to the north-east from Moscow. It is a real pearl of the Golden Ring. The Museum is well-known for its unique collections of Old Russian, folk and contemporary applied and decorative art. The architectural ensemble of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra is inscribed on the UNESCO list of the world cultural heritage.

    "The Sacristy of the Trinity St. Sergius Lavra of the 14th - 19th Century" is housed in the 18th century Monastery buildings at its historical place. It presents a complete and comprehensive collection of icons, items of gold and silver, vestments, ornamental and icon-embroideries, donations of royal, princely, boyar, noble families and clergymen.

    "The Konny Dvor" is a specimen of the 18th - 20th century architecture. It houses the Museum displays illustrating ancient history of the Radonezh land, reconstructed thanks to the archaeological excavations; history of the Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery and its architectural ensemble, exhibitions of folk art and contemporary handicrafts presenting unique collections which are still enlarged due to the active scientific expeditions.

    In the main building temporary exhibitions from the Museum collections and displays of contemporary fine art are organized.

    The Local History Section presents exhibitions conveying the atmosphere of the late 19th - early 20th century provincial life, illustrating events of the 1930s and showing the activity in war time of the 1940s.
