The only museum establishment in Russia whose basic subject for display is the subject of prisoners of the World War II and the Great Patriotic War. This subject is revealed through the materials and documents of the special operative transit camp # 27 being under control of the Management, concerned with matters of prisoners and internees and subordinated to People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR. The camp was in town of Krasnogorsk for the duration of 1942-1950. The Museum exposition and funds contain rare materials and documents reflecting different aspects of life of the foreign prisoners of war in the USSR in the period from 1941 to 1956, and the Soviet ones kept in German captivity in 1941-1945, including official documents concerning the captivity, personal effects and identity papers, articles of everyday life, handiworks made by the prisoners, etc. The Museum has an electronic data base about the foreign prisoners of war kept in the Camp # 27, as well as the former Soviet ones
