Museum of Sports is situated on the Grand Sports Arena of the Olympic stadium "Luzhniki".
The museum was founded in 1957 when the VI Worlds Youth and Students festival took place in Moscow.
At present it is the greatest museums of sport relikvias and awards.
The Museum tells the story of the Russian sport - starting with few sport clubs of the prerevolutionary Russia through the success of Soviet sportsmen up to glory of XXII Moscow Olympic games and contemporary achievements of Russian athletes.
There are unique pieces of art in the Museum collection: gifts from sports federations from various countries - cups, tropheys, vases, sculptures, paintings etc., made of precious material in single copy
The collection posses awards of the Honored Master of Sports skater Y.Melnikov, multy Champion of USSR in track and field A. Pugachevsky, boxing-gloves of Olympic Games 1964 Champion V.Popenchenko, Champion's tape and skates of 4 times World Champion I.Artamonova, sporting clothes of hockey player V. Kharlamov and many other distinguished sportsmen and lympic games Champions.
A special part of the exposition is devoted to the relikvias obtained by the Soviet and Russian sportsmen at the Olympic games starting from the 1952 when they performed for the first time at the XV Olympic Games in Helsinki. There are also Medals and Diplomas of the 1980 Olympic games, Olympic torch, the uniform of the Olympic torch man and etc.
"Elite" Stadium - an interesting excursion to the Grand Sports Arena of the Olympic Complex "Luzhniki". Visit of the press-centre, commentary positions, VIP zones, football zone and players' dressing rooms. The excursion ends with an entrance to one of the largest stadiums in the world.
"Luzhniki in overview" - During this excursion you visit all the sporting facilities and buildings of the Olympic complex "Luzhniki" (on foot or by bus)
