The exposition of the Museum of the national-applied art reflects development of national crafts in the territory of the Mari region at the end of XIX - the beginning of the 20th centuries. In the museum the objects of traditional life of Mari made of natural materials in technicians of weaving, a carving and also objects of cooper's, joiner's, carpenter's crafts are presented. Here devices for weaving and spinning are exhibited.
The folding-chair, set of children's furniture and dish tray from a rod, a saltcellar in the form of an utitsa from birch bark, a trunk from fir-tree roots are among unique; lykovy boots, a gingerbread board, the chain which is cut out from an integral wooden bar.
The exposition of the museum is supplemented by an exhibition "F.P. Shaberdin is a master from the people". F.P. Shaberdin (1914-1979) has entered the Mari art as the national master, the sculptor, the woodcarver who in the best works has risen to great professional skills. In the museum collections of his author's works (from fund of the National museum of T. Evseev) executed from a tree are presented: "Centenary" (1964), Pampalche (1968), "Mushroom pickers" (1971) "The forest fairy tale" (1976), etc. In total about 30 works
