Description:

The Museum of History of Kurgan was opened in May, 2006. The exhibition of the Museum is placed in the merchant`s mansion which earlier belonged to the merchant of the first guild Semyon Ivanovich Berezin and later to his son Fyodor. After the death of the owners the estate was bought by the city for the city treasury and the house was a little replanned. In the Soviet period from 1927 till 1980s it was the building of the regional archives, in 1987 it passed to Kurgan Regional Natural History Museum.

The mansion is a monument of architecture of the XIXth century. This is the only stone mansion of the city type in the Transurals which has kept a closed yard with yard buildings and the central house in the style of Russian classicism
