The Municipal Institution "Zalesovo District Museum of Regional Studies" was founded by the Great Patriotic War veterans P.A. Pimenov and M.T. Konovalov. The ceremony of its opening took place on the 1th of May in 1982.

    The most important part of its activity in encouraging patriotism in the young generation with the help of organizing different meetings with veterans, courage lessons, and other measures. The museum has a large collection of documents of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, their memoirs and photos. There some unique exhibits of different groups of population that lived in Zalesovo district long time ago. Some activities are organized to save folk traditions. The members of the staff help people with restoring the history of families, writing summaries and scientific investigations of the Zalesovo district history
