Opening ceremony of the Exhibition Hall of the Museum and Exhibition Centre in Syumsi was held on 26 March, 1999.

The main areas of the activity are the development of amateur and folk arts, support for the creative initiatives of the artists, arrangement of the conditions for their participation in regional exhibitions of fine and applied arts; collection of the historical and advanced materials which reflect cultural heritage of the district; preservation, revivification and popularization of the traditional folk culture
