Petrozavodsk City Exhibition Hall is one of the biggest (224 sq.m.) and most popular places of artistic life in Petrozavodsk. It's showing about 12-14 exhibitions annually. Most of them are devoted to the local visual arts: painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, - traditional and contemporary. At the same time exhibitions from other parts of Russia and from abroad are permanently a part of the gallery's programme. The diverse scale of artists' names, art phenomena and techniques represented to the public by Petrozavodsk City Exhibition Hall gives one a good picture of how visual arts are developing today in Karelia and far from it's borders too. Those multiple art shows demonstrated all year round are supplemented by a big annual programme of cultural events (concerts, poetry parties, excursions, lectures, seminars, ets) organized by the City Exhibition Hall. All together these make it the most attractive and universal center for cultural kinds of rest and tourism in Petrozavodsk.
