Description:
    The collection was founded in 1789 when Nikolsko Bakhmeteff factory as a model room. In 1914 it is mentioned in all documents as a museum. Three generations Bahmetyev and Prince Alexander Dmitrievich Obolensky collected samples of products of the factory, as well as foreign glass (Bohemian, French, English, Polish). After nationalization, and rename the plant in "Red Giant" in 1923, the museum collection is enriched through the efforts of directors of the plant. In recent years, the museum is replenished by gifts from individuals work and the work of artists on the glass at the end of workshops, which are held in Nikolsk since 2006. The museum holds more than 14,000 items. Nicholas Museum - one of the most unique and largest museums in the country. The museum's collection is recognized by art historians as the best collection of glass in Russia
