Description:
    Sharkansky Museum of Local Lore and History was founded in 1997 with a view to retain the history, traditions and rites occurred on the territory of the district.

    The first exposition was dedicated to the 320th anniversary of Sharkan. The large exposition devoted to the first Udmurt scientist G.E. Vereshchagin's 150th anniversary was organized in 2001. The scientist had been living on the territory of the district during 25 years and collected plenty of rites, songs, stories, legends, riddles, games which took place in the district at the end of the 19th century. The first Udmurt feature film "Alangasar's shadow" aroused particular interest for the Finno-Ugric mythology among the inhabitants of Sharkansky District and the Udmurt Republic in general. The film was made during the period of 1992-1993 in the district. The exhibition devoted to this film is currently organized in Tol Babai's House in the village of Titovo
