The reserve is created in 2000 and includes five museums with the adjacent territory and the general museum fund more than 70 thousand units of storage, M. A. Voloshin's grave on the mountain Kuchuk-Enishara, graves and gravestones on koktebelsky and old Crimean cemeteries, a memorable sign on a place of a ruined crypt of a family Jung - founders of a housing estate Koktebel.

    Is the cornerstone of the concept of development of the reserve эколого - the historical and culturological principle, i.e. idea of existence of the nature, history and culture of the southeast Crimea as uniform volume and spatial system. The geological past of Kimmeriya filled with traces of cultures of the left people is approved by unity of a historical landscape and its artistic realization in creativity of a number of artists, writers, musicians of different generations today.

    Creation of the reserve was the concrete manifestation of sociocultural aspect of ecology directed on preservation and protection of the cultural and historical space, after Homer called by M. Voloshin Kimmeriya
