Alexander Shilov is a popular russian artist, whose art belongs to modern school of classical art. In 1996 he decided to present his 355 paintings and graphic works to the Motherland. In 1997 on basis of this donation The State Duma and Government of Moscow resolved to found "The State Picture Gallery of the People's Artist of the USSR A. Shilov".

    The gallery is constantly filled with new works and at present it's collection consists of more than 900 works. It is located in the historical center of Moscow, not far from the Kremlin, in an ancient mansion, which was constructed by well-known Russian architect Y. Tyurin in 30s of the XIX century, and in a new building which was united with the first one by the same architectural style. The harmony of painting, architecture and classical music create a special atmosphere of Spirituality and Beauty in the halls. A.Shilov's portrait gallery will show you the diverse and complex picture of life of Russia. In the exposition are also represented lyrical landscapes and still - lives. A. Shilov's art activity is found on the best traditions of classical realistical painting and proves that eternal ideals of kindness, humanity, beauty and spirituality are still alive.
