Museum of History of Siberian Architecture is a claim to fame of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts. It is a significant scientific department of the university, with more than 15 thousands museum items kept. Near 1,5 thousand people visit the museum every year. Students, postgraduates and scientists come into the museum every day while their working with its archival materials.

    The museum is named by its founder ? Sergey Nikolayevich Balandin (1930-2004), a professor, Doctor of Architecture, Honoured Architect of Russia. Three main subjects of the museum's collection are: a history of Siberian architecture, a history of architectural education in Siberia and creative heritage of Siberian architects and urbanists. The museum's founds contain a wide range of designs for buildings, architectural complexes and town areas, scale models, photos, scientific works and journals, personal things of architects, pieces of art and a host of other items.

    Exhibits, which attract everybody's attention in the museum, are: designs made by architectural students in 1920-1990-ies, works of the famous Siberian architect Andrei Dmitrievich Kryachkov and materials for the history of Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater.
