The original idea to organize the history museum of the university belongs the rector Alexandr Mashkov, who was the rector in the period of 1963 till 1976. He tojk part in The Patriotic war himself$ being a graduate of the same University Mashkov worked as a lecture first? then a dean of the machine - building department, a vice - rector of science, a chief of the chair. Under his direction the Politechnic Institute (as the University was called at that time) got the first category/

    History museum was built under supervision of Yury Seleznev? who was at the head of the University from 1976 till 1987. He organized the commission on design and collection of documents for the future museum.

    One of the leading part in designing and building of history museum played Gennady Pavlov, a graduate of the Politechnic Institute of 1969. Later he became a famouse artist whose pictures are among the exhibits of this museum/

    Historymuseum was planned and designed as multifunctional area for different possibilities:

    - to create and decorate steady exhibitions about university's history;

    - to plan and organize exhibitions of famousartists, collectors among talented representatives of student's sphere, among teachers, graduates as well as professionals and initiative people;

    - to organize meeting and evening parties for veterans, students, schoolchildren, which are dedicated to jubilees and celebrations of memorial data;

    - to organize creative groups of students and veterans for taking part in different meetings and evening parties of museum (there are two vocal ensembles in museum who have been already working during eight years).
