The Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering (former Moscow State Institute of Irrigation Engineering) was founded in 1930. The Institute prepared specialists for branches of Agricultural-Industrious Complex in the fields of amelioration and water management construction.

    The museum began its work in 1987. Here materials are collected to reflect a period of formation and stages of development of the Institute.

    In the first place within the theme of the museum at its stands and expositions there are presented scientists and teachers who were at the source of establishment of our training institution and Russian school of specialists in the field of amelioration and hydraulic construction. At the stands and in albums there are materials depicting the development of the Institute during different periods of country's life, history of faculties, pedagogical and scientific activity, cooperation with foreign countries etc. In the museum a memorial room of academician Kostjakov A.N., the founder of amelioration science in Russia is organized.
