Museum and Exhibition Center "Tula Antiquities" is located in the center of Tula in the old estate previously owned by a famous and very rich merchant Yermolaev-Zverev. After the revolution of 1917 this house passed under State control. And in 1993 Municipal Historical-Archeological Museum named after N.I. Troitsky - famous Tula ethnographer and public figure - was opened. According to the excursion, the izba belongs to craftsmenof modest means. It consists of three sectors: "dwelling part", "pottery" and "smithy". This exposition is quite extraordinary sincethere you can touch and examine all the things with your own hand and even tastethem. In the "dwelling" part you will be acquainted with real life of Russian peasants, their traditions and order of a day. In the "pottery" you will learn about pottery traditions of Tula region and have an opportunity to paint a clay toy the way it did potters hundreds years ago.
