The Museum of Alexei Petrovich Tkachev and Sergei Petrovich Tkachev, People's Artists of the USSR, full-fledged members of the Russian Academy of Arts, Laureates of the State Prizes of the USSR, the RSFSR, the Russian Federation and the Union State, Honorary Citizens of Bryansk, was opened as structural subdivision of the Bryansk Regional Art Museum on September 14, 1995.
At the moment over one hundred paintings and graphic works executed by the artists are exhibited in the spacious light-flooded rooms of the renovated museum. Some of them are shown for the first time. The museum's collection comprises over 700 works by the Tkachevs. Among them are the canvases which have become the classics of the 20th century art, such as the "Summer", "Windy Day", "People's Memory", "Native Land", "In the Partisan Land", "The Fate of a Veteran", the works dating back to the period of their study at the art studio of Bezhitsky Palace of Pioneers, works of their student years, series of paintings devoted to the Tyutchev memorial places, trips round Europe, studies and sketches for the works of different years.
New works are regularly added to the collection. The museum takes an active part in the life of the city and region
