Description:

The museum of people's artist of the USSR, corresponding member of the Art Academy of the USSR, laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, participant of the Great Patriotic War, Boris Ivanovich Prorokov was opened in June, 4, 1980. It is situated in a one-stored wooden house built in 1927. It was owned by B.I. Prorokov's parents who lived there in 1927-1949. There are still trees growing in the garden planted during the lifetime of Prorokov. The museum funds comprise 2312 units. The art and memorial exposition includes creative works of the artist since the end of 1920s till the beginning of 1970s. These are: graphic works, paintings, sculptures, drafts, sketches, replications and versions of famous series, also books, original photographs, unique documents, awards and decorations donated by S.A. Prorokova
