Description:
Sharif Kamal (1884-1942) is an outstanding writer, classic of the tatar Soviet literature, public man. The museum was opened in 1950.The present- existing exposition was opened in 1980. A memorial apartment of the writer was reconstructed. The museum is based on the memorial collection of Sharif Kamal., handed to the museum by the daughter of the tatar writer .The museum occupies a part of the former private merchant residence of the end of the XIX the beginning of the XX century. In the exposition personal things of the writer, photos and some documents, reflecting the basic events of his life, literary and public activity, and also edition of his works are submitted. A grand piano, bought by Sharif Kamal in 1938, is interesting, because some well-known tatar musicians used to play it, among them was Salyh Saydashev - the founder of tatar professional music.Annually on February 28 and on December 22 some literary events are held in memory of Sharif Kamal.
