Description:

The Department of Ural People is one of the largest centres of ethnology working up complex researches in the field of ethnography of turcig, finno-ugric and east-slavic peoples.

For all history of the Department the Museum of Archaelogy and Ethnography has been its constituent part. Now there are about 200 thousand objects in its funds. Here are concentrated unique archaeological collections, authentic costumes and ofjects of different nationalities' mode of life.

There are 9 halls showing our region's history from Stone Age up to Middle Age. The last expositions are devoted to culture and ethnography of bashkirs and other nationalities in Bashkortostan.
