Description:

On June 8, 1987 the Memorial museum was opened in the house where the well-known artist I.N. Kramskoy had spent his childhood. On the house facade there is a board with the inscription: «The well-known Russian artist I.N. Kramskoy spent his childhood here». There is an outer entrance hall, a kitchen and two rooms in the house. Some documents on the painter's life in Ostrogozhsk (1837-1853) are on the walls of the rooms. The interior exposes the way of life of the burghers in the second half of the 19th century. Now I.N. Kramskoy House-Museum is the department of the Regional History and Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy
