Description:

The Museum of M.E. Saltykov-Shedrin in Tver is the first museum of the writer and satirist in Russia. It was opened for its 150th anniversary in the memorial house in which the Saltykov-Shedrin lived for two years, while serving as deputy governor of Tver.

The museum was projected by the Moscow artist Yuri Kertselli. Decorative panels performed by Valery Chumakov are basis of the exposition. Panels are a kind of "windows" into the world of 19th century Russia, in addition, transmit a modern outlook on life and work of Saltykov-Shedrin, as a writer and public figure, a strange Russian official who sincerely cared for the fate of Russia and its workers.
