The Memorial Office of academician Natalia Bechtereva (1924-2008) was founded in 2008. Natalia Bechtereva was an outstanding neurophysiologist who created an original scientific school known worldwide. Natalia Bechtereva was unique person, moreover she was unique specialist - both: scientist, and the doctor. All supervised by her investigations, were carried out at a high scientific level and in agreement with ethical, medical and diagnostic priorities. She studied common laws and mechanisms of human brain functioning (regulative and managing ones), both on micro (neuron) and macrolevel. As the consequence were born such famous theories as theory of rigid and flexible chains (1966), theory of stable pathological states, error detection theory (1968). Culmination of higher brain functions studies she carried out were investigations of neurophysiological basis of creative thinking (1998).

    Natalia Bechtereva founded Institute of the Human Brain Russian Academy of Sciences (IHB RAS) in 1990 and was its scientific supervisor till her demise.

    Natalia Bechtereva worked in this Memorial Office since the foundation of IHB RAS. The view of the Office is completely authentic, everything is preserved in the same form as it was in the life of Natalya Bechtereva. There are not only exhibits related to the scientific activity of Natalya Bechtereva, but also many personal things
