Volgograd regional children art gallery was founded in 1990 and was the first children museum in Russia. The gallery funds contain more than twenty thousand paintings and drawings from 36 foreign countries: Japan, the USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Bangladesh, Kenya, Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, etc.
In 1990s the program "The dialogue of Arts" was developed by the gallery staff. Owing to this program the summer projects of Russian and foreign children and teachers creative cooperation took place several times. The first International conference "The problems of Children art creativity development" was successfully conducted. Artists from Russia, Ghana and the USA created paintings owing to the international project "Three rivers junction".
The students of the gallery took part in the exhibitions in France, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Macedonia, the USA, Japan, India, China and United Arabic Emirates.
The gallery archive contains letters from the US president George Bush Junior and from Danish and British Royal families.
Along with interesting expositions the gallery conducts interactive games and activities for children and youth which are also attractive for adults
