Description:
    Medicine History Museum of the First Sechenov Moscow State Medical University is a unique museum.

    It was founded in 1990 and has about 70 000 exhibits in its collection. They are sculptures and portraits of outstanding representatives of medical sciences of Russia, unique collection of medical instruments, rare books, photographs and documents.

    Our university is the successor of the medical faculty of the Emperor Moscow University, which

    was founded in 1755 on the initiative of Mihailo Lomonosov by the edict of Russian empress Elizabeth. So, our permanent exhibition is devoted to the foundation of medical faculty in the XVIII century and the period of the development of medical sciences in Russia in the XVIII, XIX and at the beginning of the XX century
