The main direction of the museum`s activity is to promote the dissemination of knowledge about the forest in the dialectical unity of the past, present and future as well as the assertion of a sense of national responsibility for the conservation and restoration of forests and the rational use of forest resources. The connection of times, the continuity of generations, the role of specific personalities are a "red thread" through many exposures.

    Popularization of knowledge about forests and forestry in Russia, the cultivation of a careful attitude to our forest wealth as well as acquaintance of the museum audience with the basic principles of sustainable forest management are perhaps the most important things in the cultural and educational activities of our museum
