Description:

The Gallery was founded in 1866. Nowadays the Tver Art Gallery houses several collections namely: the collection of Russian religious art from the 14th to the early 20th centuries, Russian art of 18-20th centuries, Western European painting, graphic art and engraving, sculpture, furniture; the collection of decorative and applied art of Russia, West Europe and the Orient. There are also the scientific archives including about 4.000 items from the 19th to the 20th centuries.
