Êurakh local history Museum, is situated in an ancient building in the village of Kurakh, Kurakh district, the Pepublic of Dagestan. The two-storey building (the western part of the old bulk of Secondary School ¹ 1) is sufficiently high for the Museum. It was constructed from the local rock-stone in 1943, ànd it has one small hall and two big ones. There are a lot of historical exhibits, photos, documents etc. The hall number 1 comprises ancient historical, local ethnographical, geographical, cultural, archaeological, household utensils and agricultural tools and etc. The hall number 2 covers the years of Great Patriotic War, the 20th and the 21st centuries. Numismatics and some other interesting things are also placed here. We have a large collection of books on different subjects and themes. There are 14 boards and tables with photos, documents and lists of World War 11 veterans and victims. In numismatics section there is a large collection of bank-notes and coins of different periods of civilization, including Tsar Epoch. Historical, ethnographical, geographical, agricultural sections comprise a lot of exhibits, relating to different epochs, from ancient times till modern period. Some exhibits are set in show-cases (It's a pity, we haven't glass shelf-stands at all and enough show-cases: most of exhibits are placed on the floor)
