Almetyevsk picture gallery opened on 26 August 1975 with the support of the city Administration, îpen joint-stock company "Tatneft" and on the initiative of a talented teacher, artist, collector of Gennady A. Stefanovsky. In its funds there are nearly a thousand works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative arts, mainly of Soviet and Tatar fine and applied arts.

    The Museum collection reflects the artistic culture of the city and the Republic on the background of and in conjunction with the development of fine art and the neighboring republics, tell the history of Almetyevsk and the development of "Big oil" return from oblivion to a well-deserved recognition of the many worthy artists. Priority in the acquisition of funds are the sections "Art of Tatarstan" and "Artistic chronicle of Almetyevsk" (since 60-ies of XX century)
