The Rostov Cosmonautic museum is located in the building of the Scientific and Educational complex "Vertikal", and enters the organization JSC "The Research Production Enterprise of Space Industry "Quantum", which is a manufacturer of optical-electric devices for space orientation and astronavigation for spacecrafts.

    The idea of this museum foundation belongs to the Director General and Chief Engineer - Vjacheslav Motin, Doctor of Science, Academician and Deputy Director General of Russian Engineering Academy, Honored Engineer of Russian Federation. On the 11th of September 2009, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the JCS "Quantum", the opening ceremony of the complex took place. The first excursion was carried out by the Hero of the Russian Federation and the Pilot-Cosmonaut Yury Usachev.

    The museum carefully stores samples of space technology, personal items of cosmonauts, space suits and flight garments, achieve documents, numismatic and philately collections, models of the telecommunication satellites and units for spacecrafts orientation
